Third Party Billing

Everyone is aware that shipments billed ‘Prepaid’ require the carrier to collect its freight charges from the shipper named on the air waybill or Bill of lading, while shipments billed ‘Collect’ are to be collected from the consignee.

Many shipments, however, are billed to a third party, in such cases the shipper takes on an added risk if the third party fails to pay the carrier. The carrier can go back and collect the pre-paid freight charges from the shipper.

Tubeline accepts third-party billing only when the shipper guarantees to pay the charges should the third-party fail to pay within 30 calendar days of the date of invoice.
